On October 14, 2009, Horsham Township Council recognized four volunteers who play key roles in the success of our annual Horsham Day event. Wayne Wiley has been involved with Horsham Day since the 1960s, when he was a Horsham firefighter. Currently, he serves as the softball tournament organizer, and also assists with parking at fireworks time. Mary Dare, who is the Horsham Township Parks & Recreation Board President and the co-founder of the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce, has also served Horsham Day in a variety of roles, but most recently has taken on the task of coordinating the food and vendor tents. Rick Kircher, a member of Horsham Rotary, continues to serve as stage coordinator at Horsham Day, ensuring that the bands and entertainment stay on schedule and have all the equipment necessary to perform. Finally, Al Wipplinger has coordinated the Horsham Day Car Show registrations, set-up, judging, and prizes, and has also been a key member of the Horsham Day Planning Committee for many years. Horsham Township Council thanks all of these volunteers for their tireless service and efforts.
