The mission of the Horsham Township Police Department is to provide professional law enforcement service to Horsham Township. To preserve, protect and enhance the quality of life for the people of Horsham through a broad range of police services. The officers and civilian staff that make up the Horsham Police Department are dedicated and committed to insure Horsham Township is a safe place to raise a family, work and enjoy life.
Horsham Township is located in the eastern section of Montgomery County and has a residential population of approximately 26,000. We have been proudly protecting and serving the citizens of Horsham Township since the department was established in 1951. The department is comprised of 40 sworn officers that are supported by a 7 member dispatch and clerical staff. In addition to our main duties of patrol and criminal investigation, we provide a wide range of community policing services to include: Citizens’ Police Academy, ChATs, D.A.R.E., National Night Out, Horsham Watch, daily school checks, and our forensics class for students. In addition, each year we give out more than 3,000 candy bars at Halloween. We are here to provide the finest police services available to the community. The Horsham Township Police Department is a state accredited law enforcement agency.

William J. Daly
Chief of Police
Chief William Daly, a U.S. Air Force veteran, started his career with the Horsham Police in 1987. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to sergeant in 1998 and lieutenant in 2004, before being appointed the department’s first Deputy Chief in 2013. In January of 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Chief of Police. Chief Daly earned his B.S. from Delaware Valley College and his M.S. from West Chester University. He graduated from the 250th Session of the FBI National Academy and is a graduate of the 261st class of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Chief Daly was also an Adjunct Professor at Delaware Valley College for nine years and currently lectures at Penn State University in Criminal Justice.
He is presently a member of the following professional organizations: IACP, PA Chiefs’ of Police Association, Police Chiefs’ Association of Southeastern PA, Delaware Valley Association of Professional Police Officials, West Chester University Alumni Association, Delaware Valley College Alumni Association, FBI National Academy Associates, and Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Alumni Association.
